Normally about this time of year things start to get confirmed, what we hoping for?
Asia trophy confirmed and we're not in that, something I'd love to have done (was in Ibiza)

Yes, you're right.

You should have come out for the MLS game.......

Re: Pre-season 2015
Indeed it may not...........

I can see the first week of July being a glamour tie away in sunny Flintshire playing Airbus UK for the lucky 200 fans that get a ticket.

Not flown them myself but the guy I work with did the other month and said they were excellent.

They run the low cost model meaning they sell cheap and increase the prices as the plane fills up.

Depending on where we end up playing it could be an option to fly back that way because of the the tax the return is cheaper than the outbound.

Re: Pre-season 2015
What do you reckon on Norwegian?

Heard they we're the next great thing, and I looked at flights to both LA and NYC, but they were only cheapish, if you booked about a year in advance!

Re: Pre-season 2015
There's no way you saw flights to Portland or Seattle for £600 in July.

Yeah March is far cheaper so that makes sense SS. The US is an expensive place to fly to in the summer.

I did think might be able to get a deal with Norwegian to LA and get a cheap flight up but even they want £900ish

I went in the March, croe, although I did look at going back this summer a little while back, but it was too lumpy. That was before I knew we might be playing out there.....

Just thought, if I buy travel and a match ticket, I might Craiglist an add to see if a random will let me stay for 3/4 nights

Re: Pre-season 2015
I get married on the 8th of August (yeah, yeah fuck off!) so it's gojng to be tight. I saw some flights in BA under £600 so if I can raise the cash, find a cheap hostel I might be onto a winner!

Re: Pre-season 2015
That was was very good for July. Of course it's not beyond reason that there will be cheaper fares in "sales" over the coming months.

Still 8 hours on the Amtrak in the panoramic bar has somewhat of an appeal over sitting in an airport waiting for a connection.

Re: Pre-season 2015
Ouch.

Guess I had a touch last year, 3 nights, in a decent hotel, and flights, 800 quid. Bloke I was talking to there reckon'd BA used to fly direct, although I was very pissed that night.

A bit by the looks of this......

Teams are judged on the following criteria:

Yellow and red cards: If no cards are shown the score will be 10. Every yellow card will deduct this total by 1. A red card will cost a team 3 points in the ranking. If the red card is the result of a second yellow card the deductions of the second yellow card will be ignored. But if a player gets a direct red card after he got a yellow card earlier, the yellow card will be counted as a deduction. This score could become negative

Positive play: e.g. attacking tactics, acceleration of the game, efforts to gain time, and continued pursuit of goals. A team can score a maximum of 10 points and a minimum of 1 point

Respect to the opponent: e.g. returning the ball to the opponent at a throw-in, helping an injured opponent: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point

Respect to the referee: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point
Behaviour of the team officials: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point

Behaviour of the fans: maximum 5 points, minimum 1 point
NB: this criterion is ignored when the number of fans is negligible e.g. if there are no fans at all or because of penalty that was given by the UEFA
The total number of points will be divided by the maximum number of points, 40 (or 35 if there are a negligible amount of fans), and multiplied by 10 which will result in a score between 0 and 10. The score is calculated to two decimal points and not rounded up.

It's about 8 hours on the Greyhound or the Amtrak, the Greyhound is about £30 and the Amtrak about £50 but the train has a much needed bar so would be the better option for a score.

It's a short pre-season, the players report back on 3rd July and the season kicks off on 8th August.

I think I may have mentioned Portland to you, PB!

They're very passionate about their 'soccer' there, and it's a very friendly city, although I'm not so keen on Seattle, even though im spending a day there on a layover next month.

Croe, how would you get there from Vancouver? Another flight, train?
